There are a bunch of tools that you can use to kind of monitor your presence online. I'm looking right now at one called Ubersuggest. There is Ahrefs, which is the weirdest name. It's Ahrefs.com, there are all sorts of these tools.

And so the one I wanted to talk about today, I just. I've had an account forever because they have a lifetime deal for. Let me click on the button. $290 for a lifetime. And it's Ubersuggest.

It was bought a couple years ago by this guy named Neil Patel, who is a huge SEO guy. And he says, look, Moz, which is another tool Ahrefs I just mentioned, and Semrush, he says they charge $950 to almost $10,000 a year.

So I decided to try this crazy lifetime offer. It's 90% cheaper than my competitor.

Subscription price, or if you don't want to commit, the monthly option is still 70% cheaper, and the monthly fee is 29 bucks. And so I was like, you know, I have this tool, I should be using it. And so I logged in and I was really surprised to see they have.

And I'm sure their competitors have this as well. But it's a tool that shows you how you're ranking in AI, so how you're ranking in chat, GPT and perplexity and all that.

And the other thing I thought that was interesting is it will show you what are the top prompts for your keywords. So, for instance, mine says, what are the best podcast hosting platforms for beginners?

And it shows the top brands, it shows your competitors, it shows how often you've been mentioned, et cetera, et cetera. There's also a site audit. It goes out and it finds kind of SEO opportunities because it'll grade your site.

It'll be like, oh, like mine right now is in the 90s, which is good out of 100. And it's saying, but, you know, there are 22 pages that in my case have maybe a problem appearing in search engines.

And this is the joy of having a website that's 20 years old. What I see a lot are broken links. And it's not that the technology is bad. It's that the website that I was linking to has gone out of business.

So I just thought I would do a quick episode today to let you know that there are tools that you can use. And ubersuggest even has a free plan. Now, it's limited, as all free plans are in terms of how much you can search, you know, that whole nine yards.

But if you wanted to kick the tires on it, they do have a free trial if you want. And, you know, like I said, I am just starting to use it, but when I logged in, I was like, oh, that's kind of cool.

And then I went over to Ahrefs, which I guess people just call this hrefs, but you can go over same thing there. There's a free plan.

It'll kind of grade your website, let you know if there's anything you need to tweak, you know, again, give you ideas for keywords. And so I thought this was impressive. Now, if you want, both of them, have a plan.

I mentioned how Ubersuggest is $29 a month if you want to go month to month. And Ahrefs basically has the. They have a plan that is $29 a month as well. So if you want to dig deeper into your site, you can do that now.

Also, don't. Don't wet your pants, because you'll see where the first light subscription on Ahrefs is $129. You have to scroll down.

They have a starter plan with access to the site Explorer, keywords, explorer and site audit. That's 29amonth. And that's when you're like, oh, okay, that's a little more affordable, maybe. So keep that in mind.

And they're handy tools, but you'll notice that a lot of people don't pay attention to this. It takes a lot of time. It does. It's one of those things where in podcasting, you know, we're the podcaster, we're the editor.

Often, you know, we're the promoter. We're, you know, we're the social media manager.

And when you throw on, oh, yeah, and you need to be the SEO to see what's going on, that can be kind of like, well, something's gotta go. And sometimes it's the SEO part that we decide, you know, what I'll circle back later and dive into that, which is kind of what I'm doing.

Another tool you can use for SEO is also the most expensive, and that is SEMrush. It is $165 a month. They do have a free trial, but it's not cheap. And I don't see anything here. They do kind of break things out.

Like, for instance, if you just want a base report that's only $10 a month and it'll let you know kind of a summary of your Google Analytics, you can schedule this monthly, weekly, or daily. It gives you a PDF and so I get. You can kind of set this up and then it'll just email you.

But if you really want to dig into this, that's another one that I was like, that's not going to be the one I start with. I found a new one that does a lot of what these other ones do for like half the price. I'll tell you what it is right after this.

And if you're really on a budget, a new one I just found. I reached out to the owner. Sounds really cool. It's called Answer Socrates and. Or if you're a Steve Martin fan, enter Socrates. It's $9 a month.

It you can download your stats. It gets SEO metrics with the keyword volume and cost per click and all that stuff you get from everything else.

You can do a hundred keyword searches a month. So that's basically three a day. And then you basically get 30 recruit crew re.

And then you get 30 recursive searches per month, 3,000 cluster credits per month, and all the AI models included in LLM tracking. And so the pricing goes up to $50 a month, tops. And really all you do is you get more keywords and more searches.

And so I'm going to be looking into this because I realize as podcasters, sometimes we don't have the budget for everything. And if you go, I'll put a link to them out in the show notes because I see at the bottom they have. Do they. They have an affiliate program.

So I'll be trying to join that. It looks really interesting. They have an AI writer, a paragraph expander, a keyword extractor, an SEO title generator. All this for nine bucks.

And so I might be, depending on how, as I dig into this, I might be making a course on this because one of the things that I will say ahrefs does that Ubersuggest and SEMrush don't, is these are really detailed pieces of software and there's a lot to learn and I kind of understand it because when you go to make videos and the rules keep changing, making your video somewhat outdated, that's very frustrating. I tried that with descript and finally gave up.

Every time I would get four lessons in, they would change their interface and make all my videos obsolete. But ubersuggest has a ton of, you know, their knowledge base. But it's all blogs and maybe it's just me.

If I buy a piece of software, I want to watch you walk me through it. I don't want to read it. In fact, at PodPage, I'll put a link to this in the show notes.

We just made a complete walkthrough video and I should say complete in quotation marks because a complete walkthrough would be three hours. There's so many features, but we did one from content or from colors to content basically is what we called that video.

So if 2026 is something you're like, I gotta get a hold of my SEO. I thought I would bring up some tools that I run into, one that I have and I never use.

I need to do that more and, and point you in a direction that you might use to get your site seen more in the future. Don't forget, you can see a preview of your show by going to podpage.com preview and you can just search for your show or throw in your RSS feed.
